Target in Treating Patients with Coronary Artery Disease

The aim of treatment of patients with coronary artery disease should be:

* to provide a better quality of life, without symptoms and without the necessity of
frequent hospital admissions and interventional procedures, and also,
* to prevent adverse cardiac events such as myocardial infarction, heart failure and
  sudden death.
Natural Bypass Therapy by EECP is a treatment modality which can be used for the purposes of both the treatment and also prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases.
In the management of patients with coronary artery disease, combination of invasive interventional modalities such as balloon-stent application and bypass surgery with EECP therapy can provide a better outcome for these patients with both of their complementary effects.
For patients who are not suitable for interventional therapies, EECP is the treatment of choice.
For patients who had interventional therapies, EECP can prolong the symptom-free period provided by these interventions.
For patients in advanced stage of coronary artery disease and heart failure, EECP also provides a better recovery and quality of life, in comparison to other treatment modalities, such as a pace maker, ventricular assist device and artificial heart implantation and heart transplantation.
It should be kept in mind that atherosclerosis which is the cause of coronary artery disease, is a chronic and progressive disease. Application of EECP therapy at an early stage of the disease can provide a chance to delay the progress of the disease. © 2015
